Katherine and Chris were teacher colleagues of mine when I used to teach, so their wedding day was extra special to me. They met when Katherine began her career as a math teacher at Freehold High School, where Chris already taught English. They would see each other in the hallways and faculty rooms, but they were both shy around each other. It wasn’t until they were proctoring a test together that they had the opportunity to get to know one another – silently, via notes they wrote each other as the students took their exams.

We loved the colors incorporated on this wedding day. The blue-ish gray bridesmaids dresses (the proper color is actually known as “Mystic,” Kelsea informed us!) were to die for, and we loved how they popped against the groomsmen’s black suits with the gorgeous pastel florals.
When you have a gorgeous day, a beautiful model and a fun location, a styled bridal shoot is in order! The inspiration behind this warm lagoon bridal session was really drawn from the location. We shot at a hidden gem located outside of Houston, Texas that is known and loved for its pristine water. The lagoon is a cool shade of blue – almost turquoise – which makes for a stunning backdrop. I chose it for the hues of beautiful blues and greens + the landscape of the location, knowing I wanted to keep the details classic and simple.

Ashley and Travis had a gorgeous summer wedding at The Cedar Room- (a new venue that we were thrilled to be able to work in)! This wedding was so happy, so sweet and a huge bonus for Charleston in the summer- nice and cool! The two exchanged vows in between laughs and smiles. After the ceremony was an amazing dinner, endearing toasts and lots of dancing. This couple was all about what was important to them- each other, family and happy memories!

I wanted a garden wedding, and upon picking La Caille, we went with romantic garden with touches of “old silver”. We wanted the location to really shine, so we let it do most of the work. All we added were gorgeous flowers for centerpieces with tea light candles and silver chiavari chairs to polish off the look. The flowers were really important to me because it really made the venue pop.

Deer Valley holds a very special place in my heart. I travel to Deer Valley every winter for our family’s annual ski trip. I also chose Deer Valley because it has everything my husband and I enjoy in a vacation: fishing, hiking, biking, an amazing spa, great food, and beautiful views.
