We are happy to work anywhere you are imagining your wedding! We specialize in (but are not limited to) "non-traditional" venues and locations. Whether you are considering a barn, warehouse, your backyard, kids summer camp, a banquet hall or even out of the country we are excited to make your day perfect!

We can say without a doubt that Cathy is the best in the business. No matter what time or day it is if you need her she is there and I needed her a lot. I keep saying that if I did not have her help I probably would not have gotten married and it is true she is so organized which I love! She makes sure you have a print out of time lines and so on so you know what you should be doing each month this way you are not doing things that do not need to be done yet. She is amazing you will not be disappointed by booking her to help you plan your wedding she really is the best. Thank you Cathy for everything!!
Cathy enabled us to enjoy our wedding day in a way that just would not have been possible without her. She was extremely helpful leading up to the wedding; before speaking with Cathy, I hadn't realized how helpful it would be to have someone to help guide you regarding vendors in the area- very important!! She created meticulous, thoughtful layouts for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception for both rain and shine, as well as the BEST day-of schedule (all of our other vendors were SUPER impressed with Cathy). Cathy worked with my husband and me to find times to chat on the phone, despite our crazy grad student schedules. On the day of the wedding, I was totally confident that Cathy knew all of the details, and I could finally let go and enjoy the day we had been planning for so long. She was the person we turned to throughout our wedding to help with issues as they arose (thanks for handing us some food and water, and for asking me if I needed help with my dress that I had ripped dancing and totally ignored... continuing to dance until you grabbed me for two minutes to sew my dress back up!!) Cathy even helped us to deliver our wedding flowers to local nursing homes the next day - now that's above and beyond!! We are very grateful to have worked with you.

First of all, let me just say that Cathy is an all around awesome person. It was so fun getting to spend time with her and getting to know her during this process. Cathy made every little detail of our fairytale wedding come true. She was terrific during the planning process. When I wanted to try to handle projects myself, she stepped back and let me handle them, but was always there if I needed advice or help with anything. When I needed her to be more involved and hands on, I felt completely confident and comfortable letting her take things in the direction that she felt was best. She was always quick to answer emails and talk on the phone to hash out big picture items or last minute details. The week leading up to the wedding Cathy was AMAZING. We spent almost 2 hours on the phone making sure every last detail was taken care of and exactly the way I envisioned it. She ran our ceremony in the pouring rain and was always cheerful and positive, she was there for me for moral support all afternoon while I was getting ready, she helped setup the barn and ceremony beautifully and made sure every detail was in order. During the ceremony and reception, she made sure that my husband and I were taken care of the entire evening. Our day was absolutely perfect from start to finish and Cathy's expertise, guidance and help played such a huge part in the success of our wedding day. Thank you Cathy!! Tim and I are so grateful for all the hardwork and love you put into making our day great.
Cathy was our "life line" throughout the entire planing process including the wedding day and post wedding wrap up. My daughter and her fiancee lives on the west coast, my husband and I in DC and the wedding was in Rhinebeck. She was so organized from providing valuable information about vendors, to generating list of what needed to be rented for the farm venue to negotiated prices. Her attention to detail is phenomenal - nothing escapes her.. Because of her professional and support, we were able to thoroughly enjoy the wedding day without any distractions. I highly recommend working with Cathy for a wonderful wedding experience.

We loved working with Cathy! She made our wedding day smooth and seemless. We did not have to lift a finger and my phone was only ringing off the hook with congrats and best wishes instead of crazy vendors who are lost or need to confirm a time or address! Cathy comes highly reccomended by us!
Cathy is, for lack of a better word, just incredible. She is not only extremely kind, thoughtful and sweet, but she may be the most organized person I've ever met. I cannot begin to tell you the amount of times during our big day that I was worried something wasn't going to go as planned only to find Cathy was there, two steps ahead of everyone else. Her attention to detail is unbelievable. A quick example - we told her instead of using a knife to cut the cake we would be using swords. Her immediate question was how long are the swords, because she needed to make sure they fit on the table the cake was on. Cathy was everything we could have hoped for and so much more. We are eternally grateful to her.
Could not have been happier with the efforts of Cathy and Angie with all they did at my daughter's wedding! This was a late summer outdoor wedding greeted by rain on the day of the event requiring all sort's of last minute adjustments. Everything was anticipated by Cathy and the logistics went smoothly. Their skills in terms of managing the demands from all the different family constituencies is impressive. Their focus on making the day memorable for the newlyweds was unflagging. The energy they expended -- was considerable. They are lovely, available, accessible people who know their business and the best possible choice!!
Cathy and Angie helped us with our wedding this past August. I don't even have to words to explain how AMAZING they were. They were supremely organized, on top of everything and wen't above and beyond. Cathy is a superhero in my book and I wish I could have her by my side through all of life. She was right there in the trenches with us and really knows her weddings. Above all else, she is one of the most kind and genuine people I have ever met. Again, it's hard to explain in words what a breathe of fresh air she was in what would have been a very stressful experience but I know she is the best out there.
If you're looking for a capable, highly organized, accommodating, dedicated, down to earth problem solver who just loves weddings, Cathy is the planner for you. Both in the months of planning and in the execution of those plans Cathy was superb. She always knew what needed to happen next and made sure those things happened without being overly demanding. She never lost sight of the fact that this was our wedding and that we were all working so hard to make it come off as beautifully as possible. Thank you Cathy!
We couldn't have done it without Cathy and her team! Cathy was great to work with, from day one all the way through after our wedding day. We did her wedding fundamentals plans and and also elected for a few extra coaching hours with her for the months the leading up to the wedding. This was a good choice. These coaching hours were a series of calls and in-person meetings that helped organize everything that needed to be completed on a well aligned time table. She even set up a really easy to use online share page for us to keep tabs on things together. The month of the wedding she took over everything with our vendors, the venue, and with us. Our venue was an open floor plan in a large loft building where everything needed to be brought in and orchestrated, and she did an absolutly fabulous job. Every single person at the wedding raved about how beautiful the space was, how well everything was laid out, how personal/special the wedding ceremony and reception were, and how well ran the whole day was and how amazing Cathy was. We absolutly recommend Cathy!
Cathy was great for our wedding in the back yard of my in-law's country home. She coordinated between all the vendors to make sure the rental orders accommodated the caterer and the band, she managed the logistical needs like power outlets, and created many layouts for us. She was proactive about following up with us and providing us with tips and tools to accomplish all the little stuff leading up to the big day. The day of help from Cathy and her assistant was invaluable. She went above and beyond and I really appreciated the ownership and pride she took in her work during our event.
Cathy was extremely patient and professional. Our wedding wouldn't have been possible without her. She helped us square away details we wouldn't have thought about and made sure we had an incredible time the day of our wedding.

From the very beginning Cathy was very responsive to our needs and wishes. She was very helpful introducing us to vendors who were like-minded. She never tried to "sell" us on anything that wouldn't add to our day. This was our second marriage and we wanted to keep our costs in line with our values, and Cathy really listened and worked with us. On the day of the wedding her professionalism was stellar. Our day was flawless, and she made sure the vendors were coordinated, the guests were comfortable, and the wedding party was taken care of at all times. Cathy is beyond incredible! Our wedding had a lot of moving pieces: we got married at our friends' farm in upstate New York even though we live in California, and we needed to rent absolutely everything from a tent to tables to sound equipment to bathroom trailers. There were a ton of details to coordinate and vendors to coordinate with, but Cathy guided us through the planning process step by step until all the pieces seemed to fall right into place. She was so on top of her communication, she gave us so much of her time, and she was so emotionally invested in the process that it often felt as if we were her only client. In the months leading up to the wedding, countless friends told me things like "You're the calmest bride I've ever seen!" My response every time was: "It's all thanks to an amazing woman named Cathy." Best of all, by the time the actual wedding day arrived, we were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves, knowing that we were in such good hands. As cheesy as it sounds, my wedding day really was the best day of my life so far, and I give so much of the credit to Cathy and her fantastic day-of team. Do yourself a favor, save yourself boatloads of stress, and hire Cathy!
As an amazon prime addict I will just start out by saying HIRE CATHY!! I base everything I buy off of reviews so I hope this will be helpful for everyone!! I am a diy procrastinator that thinks I can do anything and everything by myself. I was trying to do way to much and I needed advice on what should be done first and when it should be done and basically how to create a wedding. (I've never done it before!!). I called Cathy and we clicked immediately. She understood I was ALL over the place right away and took action. She made me a check list with things needed to be done MONTHLY / WEEKLY and also helped me prioritize them. I went from "I have to do a million things right now!" to "ok, I have to do this, this week". Stress levels totally subsided and with her work sheets and weekly calls everything was unbelievably more manageable. I had a very wierd nontraditional wedding (rainbow bohemian outdoor picnic) in which Cathy helped by pointing out things I would never have thought about!! She genuinely loved all of my ideas from fairy girls in rainbow tutus with bubble guns down to having giant jenga and corn hole!! She helped in so many ways with her creativity, spot on scheduling and organizing, and of course making it happen!! It wasn't a sunny day on my wedding and started to rain by nightfall and none of that mattered. Cathy and her crew set everything up (since it was so iffy about the rain) that every aspect was taken care of. All I had to do was not trip as I walked down the aisle and nail my first dance!! It was amazing. Every thing was perfect!! I vote for Cathy!!
BOOK CATHY! My wife Paige and I were seven months from our wedding when we had our first conversation with Cathy. In our minds, we had everything under control. We knew where we were having the wedding, so what else is there? Well apparently, more than we thought. There are so many different elements from the guest lists, budget, save the dates, invitations, decorations, officiant, DJ, Caterer, florist, wedding party, wedding dress, suits, wedding cake, table cloths, guest favors, bathroom baskets the list goes on and on. Once we made a physical list, things got real quick, and a sudden moment of panic swept over both of us. Less than five minutes after our initial phone call, we looked at each other and said, "We NEED her help." (Both of us are fairly stubborn and don't like asking for help, but this time we were in over our heads) Paige and I called her up, expressed our concerns, worries, also the panic and Cathy immediately came to the rescue. She calmed both of us down, assured us that she was going to get us on track, and that we had nothing to worry about. She provided us with checklists, weekly and monthly schedules, vendor sheets, multiple layouts and more! The next seven months went by so quickly, but our scheduled appointments kept our focus on one manageable task at a time. Any time we had a question or concern, she was a phone call away. Every time we spoke, Cathy's genuine excitement and passion for what she does was apparent. Her staff on the day of arrived early and reflected the high standard we became accustom to working with Cathy. Thanks to Cathy's - professionalism, attention to detail, mediating skills ;), reliability, vision, and all around amazing personality - the day we envisioned came to life. It was the best day ever! We love Cathy's Elegant Events and recommend her for any couple planning their wedding!!!

Cathy did a wonderful job. Our wedding involved a number of logistics at a venue that didn't have a pre-packaged concept, and Cathy came through on all fronts to ensure everything went as smooth as it could have. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for an event planner who is productive, responsive and knows the local market well.
Cathy knows a great deal about vendors in the area. She's great with suggestions and ideas. I didn't have a lot in mind when I started planning our wedding, I'm not the kind of girl who pictured it exactly from the start, and she was really helpful in guiding me towards what ended up being a beautiful day (despite the rain). We had a couple of mixups with some vendor prices and agreements, but otherwise things went pretty smoothly. We had a couple of major hiccups on the day-of, but she handled things quickly and professionally. On the day-of, she is professional, almost to a fault (I make jokes when I'm nervous, Cathy does not). Considering I, A: hated the whole notion of planning and B: didn't live in the area, she was an invaluable resource.
As a DIY-oriented gay couple, we definitely hesitated to hire someone to help us plan our wedding. But we were lucky to find Cathy, who not only helped us do things ourselves but relieved of us so many responsibilities and truly managed so many aspects of our wedding better than we ever could've. On top of running a tight-but-humorous ship, Cathy is not just an expert in what she does but a warm, calm and calming presence. Anyone would be lucky to have her along for the ride.
Cathy was such a huge help in the wedding planning process - although she came with our venue as a day-of-planner, we quickly realized that she was indispensable and expanded her to help us with more aspects of the wedding. There were so many details that I never would have thought of that Cathy brought up and helped me come up with a plan for. Everything came together so beautifully, and I know it's because we thought of every detail together ahead of time.

Cathy was fantastic! She went above and beyond through every step of the planning process. Our wedding would not have been possible without her. The weekend of my wedding was so hectic my dog got loose at our venue and Cathy trudged through the woods in the rain with me for 3 hours helping me look for her. She handled each vendor so I could enjoy the day. She even helped finish the dessert table that was running hours behind in completion. I could not have asked for a better planner and her assistants were wonderful as well! Worth every penny.
When having a wedding at a non-traditional venue it became clear that I would need help. Cathy handled all the details with my rental company and organized with the venue all deliveries and set up. I simply needed to review everything and agree! WHAT A RELIEF!
Cathy is a professional! There were things she reminded me of that I never would have
even thought of. Three weeks before the wedding my DJ backed out and Cathy had a new DJ and contract in my email within an hour. A true testament to her professionalism and her ability to build sound working relationships with vendors. When it came to the day of the wedding, Cathy's partner Abbi was a blessing. There was no detail left out and all potential crisis moments were handled with grace without me even getting a wind of it! They worked flawlessly with the venue and produced a beautiful day that my family
continues to rave about. I was able to enjoy my day with no worries or concerns. They
are talented women who know the industry and can provide guidance and advice in
Cathy made sure that my wedding day was perfect. I was busy with work so I couldn't take care of a lot of details. She managed all my vendors and even pointed out some flaw (tent company tried to over charge us). She's sweet, honest, and professional. I would definitely recommend her service.
My fiance and I were excited to DIY much of our wedding. We wanted to be really hands-on but had no idea where to start. Cathy was so helpful in providing us guidance, structure, and timelines for when we should be working on identifying vendors and working on different pieces. She thought of everything! Logistics, back-up plans, and all the small details that never occurred to us. Also, we live in New York City and the wedding was outside Hudson. Cathy was integral in helping us find some of the most amazing vendors. She gave us recommendations based on our personalities and what we wanted for our big day. We ended up having a fantastic team working at the wedding, all led by Cathy and Abbi. The wedding itself was perfect and so much of that was because of all the work Cathy put into it months in advance. It was an an absolute pleasure working with Cathy and we'd recommend her to anyone with an upcoming event!
Hiring Cathy was absolutely without a doubt the best thing we could have done for our wedding. At first we weren't sure we wanted to spend any of our limited budget on a day of coordinator- but we would have paid double what Cathy charged us for her excellent service. She helped us with everything- from what we knew we really needed help with, to what we didn't even know we didn't know- and she did it all gracefully, with good energy, close to immediate response time, and helpful and creative ideas and suggestions. She put us totally at ease through the planning process, and on our wedding day, did an absolutely fabulous job keeping everything running smoothly. I can't say enough good words about Cathy. Also, it is worth noting that we are a gay couple and did many slightly alternative things during the ceremony and reception. Cathy approached our ideas and desires with absolute kindness, and truly helped make our wedding day the best day of our lives.
Cathy was a pleasure to work with, and we're so glad to have had her help for our wedding. She is extremely thorough when it comes to planning, making sure we had everything lined up, from big stuff like the hot air balloon (!) to little stuff like the number of forks. She was available to talk at pretty much all hours leading up to the wedding. On the day itself, we were reassured to know she was looking after everything.
Cathy was wonderful to work with. Unfortunately, we had a tight budget so was only able to hire her services for day of coordination and some consultation hours. She was great, we had a DIY wedding at The Farm at Pond Lily (in a barn) so there were a lot of miscellaneous details that require tremendous attention to detail and good execution. And our wedding was executed beautifully, we were so impressed with her abilities to execute and help plan our DIY wedding. She was very on top of things and was such a good sounding board for DIY ideas and suggestions. She can also be hired to help create some DIY projects as well. I was so happy that we went with her as on the day of my wedding, I had NOTHING to worry about besides enjoying myself, drinking and dancing the night away with my husband. And this is all thanks to her organizational skills and her tips weeks prior to the wedding. She had many touch base meetings with me to make sure that she understood my vision. She's very professional and extremely responsive and can be easily reached via email or phone. She's just overall an awesome person! Loved working with her!

She was able to carry out my vision perfectly and was so attentive on the actual wedding day she had so many great ideas and knew what would work and what wouldn't. I was shocked to find out how many other events she was working on in addition to mine because I truly felt like I was her only client. She is AMAZING at what she does and I think anyone planning a wedding in the area NEEDS to have her on their team. Thanks Cathy!
Cathy is an amazing event coordinator!!! She is super organized and helpful. I hired her short notice and couldn't have asked for a better day of coordinator! She allowed me to sit back and enjoy my special day because she foresaw details that i wouldn't have known existed and then dealt with them, including bringing me one of her own tea dispensers! I was able to enjoy my wedding day! Thanks Cathy!
Cathy was an expert planner for what turned out to be a logistically tricky wedding at a difficult venue. Although it was her first time planning a wedding at Olana State Historic Site, she made sure we had everything in order that the site required (and the site required a lot!). She also lent her expertise to make sure that the day went smoothly for my guests and for me. She was creative when at the last minute, we decided we wanted a different rain plan for the cocktail hour, and did it all within the budget we already allocated. I had a beautiful wedding that was great fun for my guests, family, and my groom and myself. Because I had Cathy, I was spared 90% of the worrying and hassles in the days and weeks before the wedding. Speaking with girlfriends who have hired wedding planners, they are not all created equal and Cathy is the real deal, I would definitely recommend her to couples planning weddings in the Columbia/ Green Co. areas.
If I could give Cathy a 100/100 rating I would. This wedding would not have happened if it wasn't for her. We were able to contact Cathy any day of the week at any time of the day. She helped us from the very beginning of the planning until the day of. She is extremely professional but at the same time came across as a friend. I would recommend Cathy to anyone getting married. She is worth every penny and helped make the most stressful moments seem simple. My wedding would not have been as amazing as it was if it weren't for her.

An Architect and Doctor, they met at Ski Windham on a bus trip from the city. So of course, then, when they decided to get married they looked at the place where they met.
This couple was one of my favorites from last year. These two (a gay wedding) live in Brooklyn but wanted to get married at the bride's mother's home in the Catskills. They were so concerned that the house wouldn't be beautiful enough for a great wedding but it was absolutely perfect.
This spent a year creating details for their wedding and planning non traditional touches to make their wedding an unique as they are. They have a love for farm to table, rich colors and travel which showed in their detailed choices. They brought pomegranates, fresh cut oranges and other foods right into their tablescape.
There was no a moment during the wedding day which you couldn't see this bride and groom looking at each other with utmost love and admiration. For all the details and planning it was heartwarming to see how the day really was more about them than any of the decor.
We have been planning events in New York State and the surrounding areas since 2011. Our work has brought us from Plattsburgh to Queens, to Central Massachusetts, all over Upstate New York, and the Hudson Valley. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a business.
