Global ambassadors DJ Eko and Deejay Reborn, both transplants from the SF Bay, met up living in New York City after years of djing in parallel universes. Their combined experience is a massive roster too long to tackle, having played Sydney Opera House to Coachella, alongside Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Maxwell, Miguel and on behalf of Russell Simmons & HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, Tokidoki, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein & Versace. They hadn’t met each other until Eko moved to New York and they had the chance to play together. Their common love of soulful music and Tinkerbelle personalities brought them together to talk shop and compare experiences.
"At coffee one day, we found out that we both guiltily enjoy djing weddings. We think it's an honor. We think it's fun. We both have sensed a bit of a taboo around djing weddings from our peers. We know things are changing. We know that it's time for us to help bridge the gap of djs who are 'too cool for school' and an incredibly cheesy guy who pops out of a van in a bad suit. We have seen it all. It's our pleasure to shape a wedding day, taking it from beautiful & celebratory to outright-sweaty, dancing chaos.” -eko
Get the party jumping, they do! Eko initially created a NYC-based boutique partnership called Love Junkies NYC that took off absolutely skywards, promptly landing editorials and interviews in New York Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings and introduced Eko to some of the most talented and reputable event planners the East Coast has to offer. A constant travel bug] pester both of these ladies incessantly. Eko & Reborn live bi-coastal lifestyles, with easy access to NY/LA/SF and get invitions to play weddings coast to coast and destinations beyond. Reborn and Eko are multifaceted, hybrid ladies of the music realm. Robyn isn’t only a dj, she teaches djing at Dubspot in NYC! Erica isn’t only a dj, she has been a music journalist for a decade, with her finger on the pulse of the cutting edge. Erica and Robyn draw on their multifaceted experiences with A-list performers, in night clubs, at fashion & lifestyle events, festivals, radio, silent discos [what’s a silent disco?!] even yoga classes to create a magical mojo and read crowds. They bring the fun of a contemporary dance floor to meet the traditional wedding format.
