Today’s real wedding, brought to us by Vikki Marsee of All You Need is Love Events, is utterly romantic and absolutely brimming with thoughtful details! Here’s Vikki to tell us more:
Lindsay and Matt’s wedding was set on the gorgeous grounds of Lindsay’s Grandparents and was filled with so many personal details. They wanted their big day to feel relaxed and intimate, while at the same time being elegant and formal. The color palette consisted of blush tones, creams, and soft grays mixed with the serenity of the private grounds. Guests were treated to a delectable cocktail hour with the most amazing Crostini station. On the cocktail tables were old photographs of their family that had tied the knot years before them as a reminder of the support and love they were receiving on their wedding day.
See more after the cut!
A special touch that was carried throughout the day was a paperclip. To many this seems insignificant, but it has a special background to Lindsay and Matt. When they were in school, they had a teacher that required their paperwork to always be paper clipped together. One day Lindsay forgot hers, so she turned and ask Matt and he gave her one of his – that was the first time they spoke and the rest is history.
Lindsay is very proud of her Greek heritage, so there was Greek Koufeta at each setting for guests, she had family baking Greek pastries for dessert and Greek music was incorporated into the reception. The signature cocktails were named after the couple “Shumms and Mumms” and featured each of their favorite drinks…a cold bottle of Coors Light and Dewars on the Rock respectively.
The table numbers were held up by none else then a giant paperclip and stuffed into a bottle of wine – called “I” – this was a surprise gift for Matt, I for his (now their) last name, Iwanoff. The reception linens were from La Tavola, but as an added touch, they had custom lace runners made for each table. The suitcase that held cards and pashminas for guests were the bride’s great grandmother’s.
Congratulations Lindsay & Matt and thank you Vikki for sharing! For more information about All You Need is Love Events, please visit their WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile or head straight to their website.
